Nomadix Gateways Provide HSIA for Network Visitors in an Enterprise Setting
More and more corporations recognize the need to provide easy, problem-free broadband Internet access to people visiting their offices, without decreasing the security of their own Local Area Network. Examples of people visiting and in need of a broadband Internet connection are customers, partners, consultants, sales managers, and employees from other branch offices.
By definition, enterprise networks that provide Guest Access to visiting customers and partners are exposed to an ever-changing user base that is typically unknown by the network administrator. Without a Nomadix solution in the network, giving access to visitors to the Internet may result in adjusting the PCs settings to match the LAN IP and proxy settings and raises a concern about unwanted attacks, which makes network security a concern for all users on the network and the network administrator.

- Network Security – A Virtual LAN (VLAN) is a logical network that can be created and secured from other logical networks on the same network LAN device, such as an Ethernet switch. Additionally, Nomadix Gateways support VPN, WEP and WPA2.
- Authentication – Authentication can be done via your existing RADIUS infrastructure or use the fully-featured internal database of the Nomadix Gateway to generate user profiles.
- Easy Configuration and Management – All Access Gateways are easy for administrators to set-up through the Web Management Interface (WMI), secure telnet and SNMP interfaces. Total management security can be achieved via IPSec.
Solution Set
For Enterprises wishing to deploy Guest Access, Nomadix recommends either the AG 5000 for larger networks or the AG 3000 for SME locations.
- AG 5000 or the AG 3000 running the NSE software for mid to large enterprise deployments.
- For small business or "lobby only" guest access, we recommend the AG 2100 Wireless Gateway.
- In large networks where network uptime and reliability are critical, Nomadix recommends the High-Availability Module.
