SMTP Relay

Introduction

Nomadix develops a range of public access Gateways to solve IP configuration issues faced by business travelers in public access networks away from their "home" networks.  One of the primary uses of the Internet - business or personal - is sending and receiving E-mail.  Email has been referred to as the "killer application" of the Internet.  However, in an increasingly mobile business climate, using E-mail over a broadband connection while traveling has become problematic.

The SMTP redirection feature of the NSE overcomes these problems and ensures that E-mail can still be sent by users even when not plugged into the corporate LAN.  Unfortunately many ISPs are no longer offering SMTP services to their clients, fearing issues like spam and virus attackers on their SMTP servers.  Nomadix with its carrier-class NIS infrastructure is in a unique position to offer SMTP service to clients using NSE Gateways.  To enable SMTP redirection in such scenarios, Nomadix is offering the SMTP service.  As part of this service, Nomadix is hosting SMTP servers for clients who do not have SMTP servers provided by their ISPs.
